Water Upgrade Phase 3 and 4 Photos
(Riverview, Valleyview) & (Wooded 2)
The roads were blockaded at each end of Riverview and Valleyview roads. The construction zone is dangerous,
large haevy equipment is being operated and roads are dug upand muddy. Neither the Ranch nor the contractor can risk the
lliability of anyone's well being.

This is the start of digging in Wooded 2 on December 26, 2006 at the beginning of Sunset. (right)

The backhoe operator digs the trench and fellow crew member joints the mainline together
in the trench. Another machine and a man on a hand shovel follow to cover the hole back in.

Not far into Sunset in Wooded 2 both the Interwest and Ranch crews discovered
that the electric lines in Wooded 2 were put in on an as needed basis as the sites were sold.
Consequently they criss cross in a very unpredictable manner, causing it to be very difficult
to locate and mark as well as dig for the new water lines without breaking the electric lines
where they cross. The Interwest crew did their best to dig through without breaking as many
as possible and the Ranch crew not only went ahead of the digging marking the underground
lines daily, but also repaired all of the broken lines.

These two photos show the feed lines into the site that send water to the standpipe from
the mainline in the middle of the road. Note the red flags and lines painted on the ground.
The red flags mark underground wiring, the painted red line is to guide the digger to the
standpipe location.

With the snowfall in mid January, the work slowed down for a few days. As you can see in
these photos the trenches for the standpipe feed lines were hard to see and the equipment
and materials were all covered. Also, some of the Interwest crew live quite a drive to the south
and were hindered by road conditions on a couple of days. The Ranch was sure beautiful
in the pretty white coat though! Note the little red flags in the bottom two photos above; And
see the electric lines that cross over the new water line in the trench (bottom right). The red flag is marking
those underground electric lines.
